The "Top Cut" At Independence Pass

	Just west of Independence Pass is a "cut" in the mountain that leads into the Roaring Fork Valley. Here are two photos along this highest stretch of road.
	Near the first switchback (which happens to be a trailhead to Independence Lake), there are two signs that detail efforts to reclaim/repair some of the environmental damage done by creating these cuts.
	Independence Pass is indeed a very beautiful region - something Colorado can be very proud of. However, these "top cuts" definitely could use some restoration work!
